We have to admit, we were CURIOUS to learn more about Lydia. Here’s what we discovered about our latest team member:
Tell us about your education and background. What led to your passion for the event industry?
I majored in Hospitality Management at Auburn University where I interned with Alys Beach and Invision Events. After graduation, I moved to Atlanta where I worked with special events for the Buckhead Life Restaurant Group.
I became impressed with a particular vendor we worked with—Peachtree Tents and Events. I started working with the incredible team at Peachtree and was promoted to sales associate for their sister company, Collection Event Furnishings. Through my time at Collection, I continued to develop my love for creative design, social media marketing and my passion for working directly with clients.
Following Collection, my husband and I started a family and moved to Memphis, his hometown. After the move I worked for White Door Events as an event and design sales associate. Now I have the pleasure of working with the EventCurious team!
What is your favorite social media platform?
I am all about visual, so I have to say Instagram. I love all the beautiful pictures and it’s also a great way for me to keep in touch with family and friends.
What music would we find on your playlist?
Hmmm….I love Leon Bridges, Justin Timberlake (Memphis guy!), and Mumford and Sons.
Who (or what) makes you laugh the most?
My husband, Robert. He is the funniest person I know and the life of the party!
In the theme of EventCurious’ passion project ‘Event Professionals Run The World,’ what is your health and wellness routine?
I am pretty careful about what I eat—I eat as clean as I can. I love to run and now that consists of chasing after my one year-old! I try to get at least 30 minutes of yoga in the morning to reset and focus before the day begins.
What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?
I was once in the Rose Bowl Parade!
